North Atlantic Industries announces the release of the 56XS1 2,000 Watt AC/DC Standalone Power Supply

BOHEMIA, NY – June 2019 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI), a leading supplier of embedded electronic solutions and power supplies, is introducing a 2,000 Watt AC/DC Standalone EMI Compliant Power Supply, 56XS1. NAI’s 56XS1 is a conduction-cooled, 2,000 Watt AC/DC Power Supply that converts either 3-phase, AC input or +270 VDC input into a single DC output at 2,000 Watts.

The 56XS1 is ideal for rugged defense and industrial applications and operates at full load through the entire -55° C to +85° C temperature range. The 56XS1 is specifically designed with NAVMAT component derating for rugged defense and industrial applications. It has been tested and qualified to MIL-STD and DO-160 specifications. Additional features include remote error sensing, current share, output inhibit, Background Built-in-Test (BIT) and protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, over-temperature and short circuits. The power distribution option provides 4 fault-isolated output groups. Each group can be enabled independently through discrete signal or RS-485. Operating status for each group can be queried through the RS-485 serial bus.

“The 56XS1 is a high-power density unit offering up to 2,000 watts of output power, the highest available from NAI today,” states Lino Massafra, VP of Sales and Marketing. “It has been designed in accordance with MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and MIL-STD-704A-F to withstand the harsh environmental conditions required for military and aerospace equipment.”

NAI is a leading independent supplier of embedded computing, Input/Output, communications, measurement, simulation, power and systems products for commercial, industrial and military applications built on a Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®). COSA offers the greatest modularity, flexibility, adaptability and configurability in the industry that accelerates our customers’ time-to-mission. COSA supports a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) that delivers the best of both worlds: custom solutions from COTS components with No NRE. For over 50 years, companies like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon have leveraged NAI’s capabilities to meet the demanding requirements of a wide range of processing, I/O and communication-centric applications, and do so with uncompromising quality, efficiency and responsiveness.
