BOHEMIA, NY – March 2023 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI), a leading supplier of embedded computing solutions and power supplies, is proud to announce the software supporting its Discrete I/O Module (the Discrete IOSS UoC) has received certification from the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE®) Consortium. This marks the second certification for NAI’s FACE efforts and is a significant achievement for the company’s COSA® configurable product line.
The certification was granted as part of NAI’s COSA® (Configurable Open Systems Architecture™) product line, which provides a wide range of configurable, rugged COTS solutions that meet the unique requirements of military and aerospace applications. The Discrete IOSS UoC is designed to provide all the capabilities implemented in NAI’s multichannel Discrete I/O module library.
“The FACE Consortium is the preeminent standards body for the avionics industry, and we’re proud to have received another certification for our products,” said Lino Massafra, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at NAI. “Our COSA product line is built to meet the rigorous demands of military and aerospace applications, and this certification is a testament to the quality and reliability of our products.”
The FACE Technical Standard is a widely adopted set of guidelines that establish a common operating environment for avionics systems. By meeting the FACE Technical Standard, NAI’s Discrete IOSS UoC provides customers with a product that can be integrated into a variety of different systems, streamlining the design and development process.
NAI has a long history of delivering innovative embedded computing solutions to the military and aerospace industries, and the company’s commitment to meeting the highest standards is reflected in its products. With this latest certification, NAI continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in embedded computing, delivering products that are dependable, configurable, and meet the unique requirements of military and aerospace applications.
Discrete I/O multichannel programmable modules provide interfacing solutions for almost any embedded or test application. NAI's discrete I/O modules are offered in two versions: Standard Functionality (SF) modules and Enhanced Functionality (EF) modules. All the modules feature unparalleled programming flexibility, a wide range of operating characteristics, and a unique design that eliminates the need for pull-up resistors or mechanical jumpers. The EF Modules add built-in operational functionality to provide Pulse/Frequency Period Measurements of the incoming signal (Input) and/or Pulse/Frequency arbitrary signal generation (Output).
