North Atlantic Industries Announces the Release of the TR1 Thermocouple/RTD Sensor Measurement Smart Function Module

BOHEMIA, NY – October 2020 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI), a leading supplier of embedded computing solutions and power supplies, announces the availability of the TR1 thermocouple/RTD sensor measurement smart function module. The TR1 provides eight channels which can be individually programmed as a Thermocouple (TC) or a Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) measurement interface.

When configured as a TC, the channel can interface with virtually all thermocouple-type NIST temperature ranges. The TR1 channels are individually configurable for up to 8 isolated TC or low-voltage range A/D measurement channels. Configuration programmability provides interfaces for industry standard NIST thermocouple types (J, K, T, E, N, B, R, and S).

When configured as an RTD, the channel can interface to two, three or four-wire platinum RTD sensor configurations. The TR1 channels are individually configurable for up to 8 isolated RTD measurement channels. Each channel is configurable for use with 2-wire, 3-wire or 4-wire connections to the RTD sensors. All RTD channels are calibrated at the factory and measurement results provided in Single Precision Floating Point Value (IEEE-754) format.

“The addition of the TR1 measurement module increases embedded systems’ capabilities in thermal measurement applications with a single smart function module.” said Lino Massafra, VP of Sales and Marketing. “The TR1 reinforces NAI’s commitment to COSA’s product portfolio allowing customers the adaptability, flexibility and configurability they require.”
