MOSA & SOSA™ Aligned COTS 3U OpenVPX Rugged DO-178C & DO-254 DAL A Certifiable Serial, ARINC 429/575 and Deterministic Ethernet Communication Card

BOHEMIA, NY – June 2020 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI), a leading supplier of embedded computing solutions and power supplies, announces the availability of the 68G5P-SC3AR1TE2 application ready MOSA and SOSA™ aligned 3U OpenVPX Multifunction I/O board. Fitting within a single 0.8” pitch slot, the 68G5P-SC3AR1TE2 offers eight asynchronous or four synchronous RS-232/422/485 serial channels (SC3), twelve ARINC 429/575 channels (AR1) and a single channel tri-redundant Time Triggered Ethernet (TTE), AFDX/ARINC-664 Part 7 Ethernet (TE2) or Best Effort Ethernet, all without ever changing hardware or wiring!

Compatible with OpenVPX/SOSA slot profile SLT3-PER-1U-14.3.3, Payload Modules connect directly to a dedicated 1 x1 PCIe GEN2 port to manage, monitor and control all RS-232/422/485 and ARINC 429/575 data using NAI’s multifunction I/O board Software Support Kit library package, while a 2nd dedicated 1 x1 PCIe GEN2 port handles all aspects of TTE, AFDX/A664p7 or Best Effort Ethernet utilizing TTTech’s full suite of configuration software.

In addition, NAI’s Configurable Open System Architecture™ (COSA®) allows for the reconfiguration of any board function module to support specific customer requirements with over 73 I/O, communications, measurement or simulation modules available. For example, the SC3 module can be replaced with a module that offers four redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels (FTC). NAI’s commitment of a safety critical DO-178 and DO-254 certification support path leverages the COSA modular architecture for the basis, growth and sustainment of certifiable systems.

“Certifiable solutions demand multiple deterministic communications interfaces. Customers demand modularity, configurability, adaptability and flexibility.” states Lino Massafra, VP of Sales and Marketing. “The 68G5P offers the best of all feature sets.”

NAI is a leading independent supplier of embedded computing, Input/Output, communications, measurement, simulation, power and systems products for commercial, industrial and military applications built on a Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®). COSA offers the greatest modularity, flexibility, adaptability and configurability in the industry that accelerates our customers’ time-to-mission.
