EC1

Encoder; SSI, Incremental, A-Quad-B and/or General Purpose Counter

The EC1 Encoder Module is designed to deliver precise feedback for a variety of control systems, supporting multiple encoder types. It provides four channels, each independently programmable for SSI, Incremental, Quadrature (A-QUAD-B), or general-purpose signal transition counting. Incremental and Quadrature encoder inputs are typically used to measure relative position, speed, and direction, while SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) support enables accurate acquisition of absolute position data. The module also includes a general-purpose input signal transition counting feature. The EC1 offers four isolated channels, which are essential for maintaining signal integrity and preventing cross-talk in electrically noisy and rugged environments. This isolation is crucial for protecting sensitive components from voltage spikes and interference, thereby enhancing reliability and accuracy. To ensure reliable operation in challenging environments, the EC1 incorporates input filtering for noise immunity, making it ideal for electrically noisy settings, such as those encountered in aircraft and industrial machinery.
