Program & Configuration Management

Program management is offered at every step of the design and integration process. North Atlantic Industries (NAI) recognizes the importance of critical design disciplines and logistic processes, ensuring full product life cycle management. Our dedicated program management resources provide a single point of contact to all our support disciplines.

For those customer programs that require a strict ECO process, with parts traceability and replacement in accord with the base configuration, NAI also has a formal Configuration Management Program and the associated processes to deliver this level of support.

Qualification & Ruggedization

At North Atlantic Industries (NAI), our quality systems are certified to AS9100 Rev. D and ISO9001:2015 standards plus Federal Aviation Regulations FAR 21 & FAR 45.15. These standards establish the foundation of NAI's excellent reputation in delivering quality product. Rugged environmental standards include MIL-STD-810 & VITA 47.

In house environmental and EMI ruggedization qualification capabilities include temperature, vibration (sine & random), shock, humidity, and conducted emissions. As required, NAI supplements these capabilities through the use of local test laboratories. Our products are ruggedized and tested to ensure they operate in harsh environments. Tests include altitude, temperature-altitude, contaminate protection, explosive atmosphere, MIL-STD-461 EMI testing, and lightning testing.

At North Atlantic Industries (NAI), our Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®) designs provide an intelligent platform and operating system (OS) independent approach, making the application software (SW) both simple to write and portable. The hardware includes embedded firmware (FW) that interfaces directly to the SW Application Programming Interface (API). Together, the FW/SW offer seamless software application integration for the NAI COSA I/O and communication functions.

Our Software Support Kits (SSKs) provide system integrators with the software components and knowledge base necessary to successfully develop applications for NAI embedded I/O boards and systems.

VPX, OpenVPX & VITA Standards

The VPX standard allows North Atlantic Industries and others to meet the increasing embedded computing bandwidth requirements of critical applications that need to collect, analyze and display large amounts of data while balancing the environmental considerations of size, weight and power (SWaP).

NAI is proud to be actively involved in a variety of standards organizations and technical working groups, including in the VITA (VME International Trade Association) working group that developed the VITA 46 (VPX) standard.

Cyber Security

Cyber Threats are pervasive in every aspect of our lives. It seems that every day we learn of a new hack or intrusion into our finances, personal lives and even our government. While these are extremely serious and concerning, they pale in comparison to an enemy maliciously hacking the war fighters who defend our safety throughout the world. North Atlantic Industries takes these threats seriously and is working hard to protect our systems against these threats.

NAI solutions are professionally engineered to provide the strongest and best security and protection available using the latest technology and best practices.
